I have been hearing good things about this tv, the Samsung UE55D7000 but at a cool £2349, i am not sure with your per pound comment will be in your sort of budget? Here it is:

Can't seem to find any reviews, but there is a owners thread on the internet, where you can read what people think of their own. Also you have:

This gets killer reviews, probably would recommend checking out both, i know someone who sold their Pioneer LX5090 too buy two of these.
