The BenQ W1070 ?

Okay as the title says/states

This BenQ W1070 Projector.... IS it as GOOD as most online places say, OR is the rather 'not so good' ... What HIFI-write-up correct ?

I was at one point earlier on gonna buy this from Richers for £400.00 but going by the write-up ON HERE, IT ISN'T SO GOOD ?

Who is correct ?

I would say go for it and ignore the What Hifi review after all it was almost three years ago.

The many reviews on both Richer Sounds and Amazon sites are almost all positive.

Once you have watched a film on a screen bigger than almost all tv's available, it's difficult to go back.

Remember to get the best out of your projector you will need a proper screen (available for £100 or more), just do a search on Amazon.

Indeed, I was indeed thinking this myself... it's just that having read LOADS of positives online, seeing what this mag said about it kinda put me off .... sigh 🙁

You can safely ignore WHF tests on anything, as they don’t even do basic tests on the hardware, but instead rely on the most unreliable form of testing available, (The human senses) they also assume that everybody will like everything the same way they do. (Which is another nonsense)

If you get a 1070, pop over to the AV forums and do a search for it, as you will find the ideal settings to get the best out of it. (You will still need to adjust brightness & contrast to suit your room and screen though)

In the end after looking all OVER the internet ............... I went for a Panasonic TX58ax802b which was on sale at Richersounds for only £449.00 including delivery. They were smashing to deal with and the TV is FAB !

I'd still love to get the projector as well though.
