After about 3 months of thinking, changing my mind and hesitating I took the plunge and bought a lovely, shiny new Panasonic TH37PX70. After setting it up and spending a lovely weekend together Viera and I are now very happy together. I just wanted to thank the staff on this Forum's magazine for taking the time to answer questions which they must hear repeated every hour, let alone every day. Also thanks to forum members - unlike a lot of forums on the net, this one seems full of mature, interesting people who post relevant and helpful answers.

If it helps anyone I got my Panasonic for £649.99 (including the pedestal stand) from a shop on Tottenham Court Road. I went in on Friday and they delivered the next day (£15 delivery to North London). I didnt find a better price on the net (or if I did they were 'out of stock') and the staff were very helpful and seemed to know what they were talking about.

Sounds like they deserve naming and recommending in our 'There's this shop near me...' thread.

Happy to help - glad you've found your TV soulmate, and it's great to hear of a helpful retailer. Who was it, if you don't mind me asking? Such service deserves to be acknowledged.

They're called Arena Electronics and they're first on the indented arcade bit on the left as you walk away from the tube station towards Goodge Street. Its not the biggest place and not the flashest but they were helpful and polite. Of course the price helps too!

Cheers Stringer - I may have to check them out. I've recommended one of those to my mum and dad for their living room so they're making me do the shopping around. Seems like a good price. So you're another fan of 'The Wire' I take it?

Yup - one of the best drama's I've seen on TV in the last few years.

That £649.99 was the best price I could find anywhere, and they delivered the next day!

The fifth, and unfortunately final, season is currently airing stateside. I'm not sure if it's production has been affected by the writers' strike. I'm only up to series 3(via Lovefilm) anyway, so I've got a bit of catching up to do.
