Does anyone know if this is still available online for a good price? I guess as this is an older model I could get a good price. I was about to purchase the PZ700 but wonder If I could put the difference to a surround system that will take an optical input so I can plug in my ps3, recommendations on that would be great too?

Thanks

Try this instead http://www.cramptonandmoore.co.uk/ps50p96fdx-3-year-warranty-i602999.html I have one and IMHO it is a better set than the Panasonic and 24htz for Blu-Ray.

Thanks Krime, certainly after reading many posts on here the Samsung sounds great and proves popular. Most of the time it will be used for SD but have a PS3 for 1080 gaming and blue ray. Think I will have a look around for this plasma and find the best price out there, but i'm sure my mind will change a few more times before ordering soooo hard just to buy a tv!

Hi Krime (or anyone else who can help!) is the PS50Q96HD the same as the PS50Q96FDX?

with the 50 pounds delivery the older samsung is about 250 pounds cheaper than the brand new 50pz80 which will do 24fps. Having said that I have a 26 inch lcd samsung that I actually like. just thought I would let you know as I have been monitoring the 50 pannys for a while. the 50pz700 is on sale for about 1200 in various places. I saw it online and at PCworld Tottenham recently.

[/quote] The correct model number is PS-50P96FDX(not Q) and PS-50Q96(97)HDX. The main differance between the 2 Samsung sets is that the P96FDX is a FULL HD 1080 set and the Q96(97)HDX a HD Ready one.I have personal experience with both sets as I owned a Q97HDX (which developed a fault) before changing it for the P96FDX, and all though the Q97HDX was a great set I would recomend the P96FDX if you can afford the differance in price. :)

Well .. ..

Spent my £1200 this morning on the Samsung PS-50P96FDX rather than the Panasonic TH50PZ700 i'm sure I won't be disappointed, purchased from Crampton & Moore on DJ Krime advice which I am very grateful for. Decided as I had read that is handles SD better than the Panny and this will mainly have SD freeview for the timebeing as well as PS3 and blueray

Thanks again DJ and everyone else
