TH42PZ80 / PDP4280XD?

I was on the verging of buying the PZ80 but looking at all the ravings on the Pioneer I am not so sure. Is it worth paying the 40% more is it really that good?

I was trying to tell my self that i will sit closer than 8 feet to my telly but i probably won't so 1080P is pretty pointless!

Only you can make that call. You need to compare them in the shops. Whether you can see any difference with 1080p panel, depends on your eyesight and sitting position. Again, looking in the shops at your own viewing distance is a must.

Like rewerb says only you can make that decision.

It all depends, you may find that you could buy the cheaper Pany thats prob 95% as good as the Pioneer and spend the money saved on a surround system or some other goodies. Im not saying don't buy the Pioneer as it's a quality tv, but you might be able to get more for your money by going for the Pany.
