EvilWolf:
The catchword - 'nearly'. A cd player will always be much better. If one can afford a SuperNait, why have a cassette deck as a source? Wouldn't one want the best source he/she could afford, that compliments the strong virtues of the amp? Otherwise, just settle for a used cheap budget amp off E-Bay and save money.
Where is the synergy? The disparity between the two is mind boggling, to say the least, and in my opinion, makes no sense whatsoever.
Hmmmmmm, Lets get one thing straight, i have thousands of cassettes, probably 95% more cassettes than i have cds, I collect cassettes you see, and you know when "one" spends upto £500 on ONE rare cassette then "one" starts thinking........well why not buy a hifi system what is worthy of my ultimate cassette collection, thats why im talking supernaits and the like because i want to compliment my treasured collection,
I listen to old skool hardcore from 1989 to 1996, just about every DJ set from that era and that genre of music was put on cassette, all the way up to around 2002,
still to this day as part of a kind of "cult factor" the music/dj sets from proper raves gets recorded to tape as well as cd,
I can go down to reflex records here in sheffield and buy a brand new cassette of many a rave thats taken place over the last few weeks/months
I actually have an over whelming smugness that i could pick up 20 or so of my rarest cassettes and they would be worth more than the majority of this forums high end systems lol
