Got a Mordaunt Short sub which has a 3 controls on the rear, one of which is for 'phase'. What does this do and should I have it turned down,up or in the centre??

The phase control allows you to set your sub driver to be in phase with your speaker drivers i.e. moving in and out at the same time. It is basically a case (there are probably better ways but I don't know them) of using a low frequency test tone 1.e. from your receiver and dialing the phase control until you hear the greatest amount of bass, if they are out of phase the some of the bass will be cancelled out. It is easier to do this with subs with a remote, but two people will do, your servant doing the dialing and you doing the listening.ÿ
