Subwoofer confusion

My Sub has just given up the ghost on my Infinity Oreus speaker package, I am getting mixed reviews from a range of retailers as what is the best sub to use to replace it, I have had recommendations for a REL Quake, on quite a few MJ acoustics subs and a few others as well and am completley confused.

My living room is 12ft x 13ft and am using a Harmon Kardon AVR 255 amp (other may not, but I like it) and am using the LFE input.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I would recommend B&W subwoofers such as B&W ASW608 and the B&W ASW610 as they are within your budget. I auditioned both and upgraded to the B&W ASW610 with my B&W 685 Theatre. You would not believe how good they sound with music and movies. You will find that What HiFi has reviews of subwoofers and the B&W ASW610 is a 5 star product. Find a good dealer who will let you audition a selection.

What crossover point do the Oreus need to be crossed over at?
