If the floor isnt concrete then you would probably need to make sure the floor was carpeted and that no walls leading onto the next house where soundproofed including doors leading to another room.

You'd prob expect to loose a few inches of space though.

Google room soundproofing and see if you will be able to to it with your room layout without spending too much money. Carpeted walls would held and draft excluders on the doors etc all help

I,d still try the Auralex first, it,s only about £40. Sound proofing between party walls only really works if both neighbours sound proof their side of the wall, not just one side. You should phone your local council and ask the environmental officer if they have any suggestions, or indeed they could come round and take a reading from your neighbour,s side to see if the sound is as bad as they say.

the room is 5 metres long so I have space to kill, the problem maybe that the downstairs is all open. From the lounge we have an archway to the conservatory on the left and the kitchen on the right.

I am not sure about the floor material, I think it it timber beams with a special insulation board on top as we have underfloor heating and then a screed on top of that which encases all the underfloor heating matting.

I had the neighbor knocking my door b/4 I bought the Sub Dude. and yes it appears to have tightened the bass nicely.

I paid £50 for mine, free delivery (can't remember where from tho)

Just had an email from Dolphin Music, who will deliver to me in the Channel Islands and they have said the SubDude protects more for sound going through the floor and ceiling and that I would still need to do something about the walls.
