I'm new to the form (loving it so far) and looking for some help with getting my new sub set up correctly.

Here's the setup - I have a Canton Smart Amp 5.1 and have just upgraded to a BK double gem sub and was looking to use the high level input.

Here's the issue - 5 of the 6 speaker outputs on the amp are in use. The 6th is for a sub, but the double gem instructions and high level cable need 2 outputs (image from the manual attached).

What are my options?

Tricky.....Change your sub?
Or you could bare wire that lone red cable and share that speaker terminal with whatever speaker is already attached to it.
PS: I have no idea why it needs to be wired like that.....

The sub speaker outputs on the Amp are really designed to be used with subs that have speaker level inputs.

I'm not convinced that it will work with a high level connection as you really need 4 (well 3 but they come in pairs, so 4) binding posts.

Whilst I suspect you could use another binding post I'm not sure I would like to say how that would impact the signal/information the sub receives.

Any reason you want to use this? RCA would be much simpler.

Well the diagram shows it taking (so obviously requiring) an output from both channels of an amp.
Presumably doing its own summing to mono 🤔

When it comes to subwoofers, isn't 'high level' just another name for speaker level? 🤔
Either way....
RCA would be much simpler.
... and clearly the best option in this case - not least because the Canton might even be class D??
BK manual shows that it can accept sub or preamp RCA outputs (if available from the Canton).

There is an RCA sub out on that Canton so why is OP wanting to use speaker level outputs when it will obviously interfere with whatever else he is hoping to connect speaker wise?
Just curious.....

This is about connecting the sub to a stereo amp. It wants the bass from both L and R.
Your amp doesn't have a L & R.

You have a 5.1 amp so you can do 2 things.
Use the SUB (6) speaker out of the amp into the high level input or use the RCA out of the amp into the RCA input of the sub.

Spot on. I was wondering why he thought he needed to wire up in that particular configuration with that amp.
