Hi forums,

I'm in Bristol at the moment for Sound & Vision 2009. I'm in the market for a pair of sub £1000 speakers to replace my current Mordaunt-Short speakers.

The ones I've heard that I liked were:

- Focal Chorus, I believe it was the 716 V but might have been 714 V. Has anyone heard these or the 726 V? I'm seriously thinking about these, I quite liked the sound (and looks).

- Acoustic Energy Radiance -- it may be called Radiance 2, it's smaller than the Radiance 3 and isn't out until March. Anyone heard these? I quite liked them.

- Dali's Lektors impressed me, although I'm more interested in the Ikon 5 or 6.

I was also very impressed by Sennheiser's new HD-800. I really thought they sounded beautiful, but I'd probably need quite a headphone amp to make them worth a grand. Hopefully it will just make the HD-650s cheap enough that I can finally get some...

Anyone have opinions about these speakers or others I might try? Or other stuff to check out at Sound & Vision as I'm going again today :)

So after speaking to each of the respective companies and a few of the Sales/Advice people, the best thing seems to be the Focal Chorus 716V. I think the 726V would be too big for my room, and everyone seems to agree that it's hard to beat the 716V.

The reviews I've found of the Chorus 700V and 800V have not been universally praiseworthy, although oddly most of them seem to be in French, Dutch, or American -- are they not popular here?

Another possible problem is that there seem to be no dealers near Central London, which might pose a problem...

Would like to hear feedback from anyone who's heard these speakers (or the Acoustic Energy, or even the Ikons).
