Sub £1000 Dolby Atmos?Airplay AV amps

Hi folks.

I would love to upgrade my Onkyo TXNR-609 to an amp that can accommodate both Atmos and Airplay functionality. Are there any sub £1000 models out there? I love the look of the award winning latest Pioneer receiver, but my budget can't make it! Regards, Ian.

have a look at the Denon x4100 at peter tyson for £729. I've just upgraded to this and sounds amazing. It does a 5.1.2 atmos confucpgurstion, if you want a 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 then you need to add a stereo amp. Also, there is the Marantz 7009 which I think can be bought for under a grand..

Hello Imac71, the Denon X4100 is very good, but the Marantz SR7009 is better in that it can do 7.1.4 Atmos if you add a separate stereo ampfilfier (which doesn't have to be particularly good or expensive). You can buy it from Peter Tyson for £949 here.

If you wait a few more months their will be more choice for dolby atmos enabled amps, although they will be a lot more expensive, i have an onkyo 606 and i have decided to wait untill christmas 2015 before i purchase a new amp it will probably be a denon as i like the idea of having internet radio. *smile*
