Bizarre lack of posts re. the above. Anyway, had mine for a week. Best £259 I've spent in a long time. Have it connected to QNap NAS & also USB sticks. Analogue out sounds better than digital out to Beresford, though with a better DAC I'm sure there will be no contest. As a starter for streaming etc it's a dream. Internet radio works like a treat too.

My word.

It's on my list of.. 'bits to look into for my Big New Radiogram'.

Most importantly, does it have a 'VU meters' display option like the Squeezebox Classic had?

This matters more to me than it's sound quality.

Ooh get her ! Let me tell you this boy. There are people more eminent than you will ever be eg John Swenson, who really dig the Touch.

I think John's.. "My word" comment was expressing suprise rather than contradicting your impressions or putting them down. (At least that is how I read it.)

Your invocation of the 'eminence' of John Swenson led me to google him. I got (a) a rock writer (b) a geology professor (c) a writer on the Windows team at Microsoft.

Still none the wiser regarding his credentials in the case of Squeezebox Touch vs Beresford DAC.

Anyway, does the Squeezebox Touch have the VU meter display that use to be an option on the old Classic?
