I'm trying to connect two sources to the single AUX IN on my Sony micro stack. I know this isn't exactly a hi-tech set-up , but it's been forced on me by lack of space. The sources are phono jacks from:
1. A pre-amp linked to a turntable. 2. Audio out from a Toshiba DVD player.
To save reconfiguring the leads round the back of the Sony stack every time I want to play some vinyl, I tried using two splitters I bought from Maplins, so that both sources were always connected even when not in use. I can't see a situation where I would want to use them together anyway.
Problem is, when watching DVDs the audio seems degraded. It returns to normal if I remove the splitters. NB: I don't have a TV, I'm using a digital projector to provide the image.
What is happening here, and is there a solution? Maybe I need some kind of switching gadget? Thanks for any help anyone might be able to give me.
