Hi

I would like some advice. I would like to purchase 2nd hand spendor speakers, 6-9 range. I am a little confused which order they came out.s, se or r. I am looking to spend £400-£600. I also would like a speaker no more than 10 years old and bi-wirerable. The speakers I would really like would be 8 or 9.

Am I I being realistic?

I am asking this because on ebay people are asking for quite a lot for spendor speakers even if they are quite old. Or are they reasonably priced?

Thanks for reading and I hope you guy's can help

I think you might be being a bit optimistic looking for A9s within the budget you've quoted.

I sold a pair of Spendors through Hi-Fi Choice Mag. They must have been at least 20 years old (but in mint condition)

They sold for 45% of the price I paid when new, to a man from Hungary (I live in England)

He was filling a car up with classic speakers and had no trouble paying what I had asked. All I can say is that Spendors were and probably still are, sought after secondhand.

Forget about bi-wiring. Yes some speakers are desirable and s/h values are high, all you can do is search on hifi sites and ebay to find what is the going price. How about these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/332603055747?chn=ps&dispItem=1&adgroupid=43920634520&rlsatarget=pla-359427365517&abcId=1063846&adtype=pla&merchantid=6995734&poi=&googleloc=1006605&device=c&campaignid=797602469&crdt=0

Or these from a dealer which seeem to be biwirable: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPENDOR-S6E-speakers/263414283213?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908110712%26meid%3Dc88740c9beec447f84a7bb0aab838efb%26pid%3D100677%26rk%3D9%26rkt%3D30%26sd%3D332603055747%26itm%3D263414283213&_trksid=p2385738.c100677.m4598

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I have Caspian integrated and power amp with bi wirerable set up.

I think s6 and s6e were the last biwireable ones produced.

I just wanted to make sure about the price.

Which ones are better in the 6 range, s6 or s6e and what would be a reasonable price?

Good tip for buying on eBay (sorry if obvious and you’ve already done this)...

go into settings. You can update to sold and completed listings view only. This means you can see clearing price for similar sales.

Worth doing this over a period of time as eBay does have some crazy buyers on there who will pay astronomical prices for stuff.

Good to get a fair view of a products worth. Also to try get yourself a decent deal.

I’ve bought loads, and sold loads on there over past few years. Always making a little each time.
