I'm interested in matching a pair of Spendor S3/5R speakers with the Cyrus 6 vs2 amplifier. Any thoughts out there? Any suggestions regarding cabling?

They're pretty low in sensitivity so you might be left wanting with a 40W Cyrus 6 in anything bigger than a small/medium room. I reckon to get the best out of those speakers you need better amplification. Is a used Pre and 8 Power out of the question?
For speaker cable I would grab some Chord Odyssey 2 and i/c a Chord Chameleon Silver Plus. I think the former is quite neutral and revealing, the latter just a very good cable.

Mind you from someone who uses a ps3 and a NAS drive as a source I guess your idea of a good sound is very different to the rest of the world.ÿ
I wouldn't say the S3/5R is the most accurate speaker, but it is very musical given it's design goals. I'd be more concerned about feeding it with junk like Cyrus gear!!

Hey you could always put some rubbish from KEF, Monitor Audio, Dynaudio, or Dali on the end of the Cyrus! That way it wouldn't matter because you wouldn't be listening to music anymore, just really bland hifi 🙂ÿ

Why pluck a dead thread from over four months ago just to 'have a go' at a banned member's comments and chosen source?
Looking at your other comments it seems you drop in every few months to insult a brand or other members so I suppose this is consistent.
