I have the Dali Zensor 1 speakers which are very very good, but can sometimes make the odd unwanted sound, particularly on the drifters song "Come on over to my place"

Can you test from your computer to your hi-fi please

Free track to play

Link:- https://www.7digital.com/artist/the-drifters/release/stand-by-me-the-very-best-of-4730424

Track 13, at around the time point of 15 seconds

Would be very grateful just to see if it is more of a track issue than the speakers for this particular song

Drifting causes tyre squeal. It's probably that. *smile*

Seems fine to me (from your link on Safari, on my iPhone, via AirPlay to my system).

Got headphones? Try those too.

Thanks for trying Chebby, yes I thought about headphones and have just tried them and it is on the headphones also, I don't think the Denon Ceol would be at fault probably me thinking it is a squeaky sound when it is part of the track perhaps

Thanks for helping again Chebby, I have heard that track originally on my hi-fi internet radio a few times on "Gold London" and again last night played straight from the internet to my hi-fi (no computer involved), and find I have the same issue listening via my computer to hi-fi on speakers and headphones and also directly from my computer to headphones, so must just be me after all, thinking it is a noise when it is part of the track, but again thanks for your help, I presume you are still getting on very well with your current system from your Marantz MCR603 *smile*

Thanks gasolin, yes I am sure the noise I am hearing is meant to be there after all

I know reading some of your posts a while back that you felt the Dali Zensors lacked bass and that you have now settled on the Dynaudio Emit M10

I was thinking of getting those speakers for my Denon Ceol N8 (when I have some money), as I have heard the older Dynaudio DM2/6 speakers a while back at a hi-fi exibition which sounded amazing, should sound fine with my system I would think hopefully

Dynaudios are good i, feel the emit m10 are not as bright as dalis, the emit 10's are mabye 2 steps up on the zensor 1, because the top is not agressive at high levels compared to zensor 1's with nad, denon, marantz amps, bass is deeper and not bloated, muddy with a good amp (use speakers stand that make a difference in the bass), they can handle high levels and still sound good

If i want quality i would skip Boston acoustic a's, dali zensor, ma bronze,q acoustics, wharfedale diamond 220/225 and go for no less than dynaudio emit m10, they are above the mentioned speaker and start where it starts to sound really good, also my Marantz PM8005 is where it at marantz starts to really sound good, makes listening to music an above avarage experience

I use an amp that cost about 50% more then the speakers, the emit m10's can handle such a good amp, mabye even a better amp, but then i would look at the excite range, they are 6 ohm speakers so they are not as hard to handle as the emit m20 that are 4 ohm speakers

I have Dynaudio DM2/6 (little different to the Emit 10) and Wharfedale Diamond 220 at home. Both are excellent in different ways. However, the Wharfedales are better balanced, more even, and more enjoyable across a wider range of music than the Dynaudios.

Just goes to show how personal it is, and why auditioning before buying is essential.

I disagree the wharfedale diamond 220 sounds dull and a lack of bass with a Marantz PM6005 and even a Nad C326BEE they also sounds a if they need a big amp to play loud, 1 set of emit 10's or 4 set/pairs of diamonds 220...... alone the price should indicate what sounds best
