Speakers for CA 540 V2 Pairing...

Dear All, I am in the process of finalising my study system (3m x 4m) and was looking for some help with speaker choices.

I have the CA 540 V2 A & C (Amp and CDP) I also have a pair of Monitor Audio BR2's and Wharfedale 9.6's spare - I find the BR2's way too bright and a little unpleasant and the Wharfedales a little wooly and indistinct.

Speakers I was looking at are the B&W CM1's - listened to them on the end of an Onkyo all in one and really liked the rich lush sound, however they are getting to be close on double the cost of each of the CA components, any other ideas of good (long term!) standmounter speakers?

Anyone? Looking for some advice on pairing speakers with this kit as neither the Wharfedales or the BR2's sound good on it - living in South Africa, kit is nigh on impossible to dem so have to rely on the advice of others....

The CM1s are really good. Buy them, then upgrade the amp at a later stage if necessary.
