Speakers for Arcam FMJ38 and 37

I am about to buy this amp and cd player but need some speaker advice. In a room 21ft long by 11 ft wide , listening across the width , what woud be the best stand mounted and free standing speakers. They must be close up to a wall, that is the only placement restriction.

Focal chorus speakers are a very good option. They are front and downward firing ports so can be placed very close to the wall. Also sound excellent with arcam amplification.

Totem Arros, PMC, Monitor Audio GX range (or even the Silver range).

Try something front ported if it needs to be close to wall.

You would think so, but the Arros are terrific in this area. Might also be worth seeking out Ruark Sabre III. Both rear ported and both fab close to the wall.
