Speaker recommendations please!

All that's left of my 'Best Buy' system from 1978, is the KEF Corelli speakers. I've recently been fussing around with some gradual upgrades, I like what I hear, .............but I want something...............more!

As you can see, it's a modest set up, but despite being a musician, can't get my head round spending more on a system. The speakers will be about 20cm from the wall, and I fancy some EB1 or EB2 speakers, and that's about the range of my budget.

Any thoughts, recommendations or comments?

You could try the 545 cd player with the 326, should get better sound. Could put some Dali speakers on the list of possibles. I like the EB2 's on paper.

I'd agree with Blackdawn about the Dali speakers. I've listened to the Lektor 2s being driven by the NAD326BEE and the sound was very good. (I think What Hifi recommends this combination).

I wondered about upgrading the CD player. They both rate 5 stars of course, but do you think the 545 would be a noticeable improvement?

You've answered your own question/dilemma. Stick some EB1s or maybe Monitor Audio RX1s. Home and dry

The NAD C545BEE would be a sideways upgrade at very best from your CD73T. A waste of time and money in my opinion. You have a very good CD player. If you really want to improve it look for a good used Arcam CD192, Marantz SA7001 KI-Signature, or Rega Apollo.
