Hi all, first post, could do with some advice....been down a huge rabbit hole trying to get my budget system right, and have gradually started to educate myself about sensitivity and power as decent metrics. I currently have 2 amps, and would be interested in people's thoughts. I have

Fosi BT20A which puts out
100w into 4ohms
50w into 8ohms
&
Onkyo A-9010
70w into 4ohms
44W into 8ohms

I have a bunch of speakers am considering:

MA Bronze 50
80W RMS
8 ohms
85db sensitivity

Triangle Borea BR02
80W rating
8ohms
89db

Dali Oberon 1
25-100W
6ohms
86db

Elac Reference DBR62
120W
6ohm
86db

If I understand it right, low sensitivity would work better with the amp that can chuck out more power (ie the Fosi), but which amp would be a good fit for which speaker, purely based on the above? If it's possible to state such a thing 😄 I listen in a 11x10 room, approx 9 foot from the speakers, thick carpet. Never listen at loud volumes (so does the sensitivity even matter?) and my tastes are metal/rock/indie/70s/80s. I've recently ditched a pair of Wharfedale 12.1s as could not get on with them

Unfortunately, when it comes to speakers you should only consider those that you can actually audition yourself.....

Auditioning in store is a waste of time, you can't get a proper sense of what they'll sound like. This is more a question of matching based on how easy the above speakers would be to drive?

True, you're best finding a dealer that will let you loan a pair to audition at home, at least auditioning in store with a set-up similar to your own is better than not auditioning at all.
Check speaker specification to see how easy they will be to drive particularly minimum impedance.
The Borea look good but drop to 3.6ohm which isn't good.
To be honest none of the small standmounts you list are particularly effi but they should be drivable with your amplifiers.

How did you mount them? Wall, floor, stands, table?

What did you particularly dislike? That might help us get an idea of what might be preferable.

How easily could you regulate the volume? Did your amplifier control give plenty of adjustment, or was the desired setting very low or high in the rotation available?

Incidentally, the difference between 44 wpc and 50 wpc is negligible in practice because of the way humans hear ‘loudness’. Basically both amps are plenty in a room your size, especially as you say you don’t listen loud.

Mounted on stands about a foot from the walls. Just found them very muddy in the midrange and weak treble, and this is with 3 different amps, PEQ correction.....tried everything. Have now a tally ordered one of the above speakers, will audition at home, it's the only way and I have 2 very different amps. We shall see!
