Speaker cable choice

Whilst still waiting for the new equipment to arrive at the dealers i've been looking into speaker cables.

I've negotiated QED Silver Anniversary XT ( 2 x 2.5m ) to be supplied free. The audition was running Chord Company Carnival Silverscreen which sounded great and i could have had that but i need to run the cable under the carpet, hence i opted for the QED.

I don't think the QED will quite match the Chord for SQ but just wondering whether for the sake of £60 or so it was worth paying the extra for Naim's own NACA5??

Amp / speakers are Naim Nait XS feeding Focal Chorus 714v's

Opinions as always greatly appreciated

A friend of mine recently changed his speaker cable from some old NACA5 to QED-SE-XT [allowing me to adopt the naim in the process]. He only changed thanks to a repositioning, and his naim being too short, but after some listening we came to the conclusion there wasn't a night and day difference. obviously, this is room specific etc etc, but i think you should heed your own advice.

be practical

if you want to hide the cable, dont get the bigger, clunkier stuff.

im sure you'll be pleased with QED

I have used the Naim NAC A5 and the chord silverscreen with my Supernait and found that there was virtually no difference, both very good cables the Chord being less than half the price Naim cable.

As mensioned in a previous thread only the older Naim amplifiers were better to be used with Naim cables, the modern Naim amps are designed to be used with a wide range of cables........
