I have a pair of Tannoy Mercury M2.5s that have served me very well over the past (nearly 10) years, but I'm thinking of upgrading them. What I'd like to know is whether something like the Monitor Audio Bronze BR2 speakers would provide a noticeable improvement in sound quality. I suppose the question is, how much would I have to spend to get an appreciable difference in price, trying to keep the expenditure down as low as possible (I'd love to spend 800 quid, but that's unfortunately not an option). The system is based around a Sonos ZP90, run through a Denon PMA250SE amp.

Thanks for the advice!

As a little bump - would the EB Acoustics EB1s be a better choice? I know they are more expensive, but would they be worth the extra money?

Thanks

You could try a 2nd hand pair of Mordaunt-Short MS20i Pearl Edition. Might seem a strange choice but they are superb speakers and work really well with Denon amplification. I reckon they'd be a big step up without embarassing your amplifier.
