I have heard a couple and looked at a couple. Was going to buy a Denon two weeks ago but am now going to wait and see what develops as the year progresses. I have a sounbar currently which works brilliantly but a decent soundbase would firstly look better and secondly may well sound better as the year progresses. This technology will improve throughout 2014 so I would NOT spend my oney today on anything between £250 and £400.

Have been doing a bit of probing into these soundbases. Have heard the Bose in Currys, Denon and a company called Orbitsound have also produced one, maybe others around as well. I felt the Bose at £350 was overpriced. For that kind of money I would expect to be able to control Vol. Bass and Treble individually. The Bose only lets you control Volume. From what I've read the Orbitsound unit at £299 and the Denon at £250ish I think, give the user adjustment of Bass and Treble.

Not read the Feb edition yet so don't know what has been said about them.

I bought the bose solo for my technophobe parents who had a corner tv and specifically did not want a sub. They are very happy with it but i would agree that it is very over priced. However, the bose was pretty much the only thing available when i bought it so all the new competition entering the market should see a price cut for the bose and sound bases in general.
