Sound Projector or real 5.1?

I am thinking of upgrading my Yamaha YSP-900 with FSW-100 subwoofer but I have a dilemma.

I thought I had it all sorted out, Yamaha brought out the YSP-4100 which has come out on top of the sound projector review. Which would simply drop nicely into my current setup. (See Bio for details). It would give me 7.1 via projection which has worked out well with my current setup.

I don't have a large room for a true 7.1 setup so a 5.1 would be on the cards. I am looking at the Boston Acoustics Soundware XS with either a Sony or Denon Amp. I would probably want a sony amp as I have a lot of sony gear but I want the best sound with TrueHD.

Do I go for the Yamaha or would a real 5.1 be better? If its the latter then which Amp would suit my setup?

TIA

Pete

The real thing will be best in terms of quality, but you have to look at your piorities, a 5.1 system will do very well, as most movies are in 5.1 even in HD and 7.1 or 6.1 will still work very well on a 5.1 system, but it will cost a tad more I suspect.

i Don't Know the sony, but the denon is very good both musically and in the surround formats i don't know the speakers either try and match the gear well.

*Bump.

Would the Denon amp match up with the Boston XS Speakers? I would use Chord Carnival Silvershield for all the speakers. I would run the Amp to my Sony TV with the Chord Active HDMI.

I have not found any decent stores I can demo this kit in. :(
