Hi,

Assume that there is an AV Receiver with HDMI port which supports decoding formats like Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Prologic etc but doesn't have Dolby TrueHD. So if I connect an Blueray player via HDMI cable & play a Blueray disc then will I hear true HD sound from the setup? Thanks!

assuming that your receiver can accept pcm oudio over the hdmi and processes that audio sound to your speakers system and not just pass through to the tv , then u can just let your BD-player decode the sound , and that by changing the audio seting , from bitstream to pcm on your bd-player main menue, and in that case what u will be hearing ,is an uncompressed pcm audio , which,s relatively very close or identical to all that HD-audio format.

Ok assume that the setup is Sony HT-DW5000 6.2 channel home theatre system & the player is PS3. Thanks!
