Thanks for that Ronald, always encouraging to hear. Does anyone know if it can handle 3D audio and video though? I'm keen to future proof myself as much as i can on a limited budget!

Many thanks,

Mike.

Hi guys, well i want to know whether 3D capability will truly make that much of a difference. I'm an average home consumer who's looking for a decent surround sound amp for .mkv and blu ray films, ps3 and freeview hd pvr, as well as a decent listen from my ipod.

But I don't want to buy the 2400 to find out that i'll be buying blu rays in the near future with '3D' and then find out and notice that I'm missing out visually and sonically. What does '3D' audio do? If I didn't have 3D functionality would that mean i couldn't watch the films using the amplifier?

I'd like the onkyo 608 but I can get the 2400 for £200 cheaper so it's a big ask.

I think by now that you'd know if you wanted 3D....do you have or are you planning on buying a 3D TV? if 'no' to either of these then the 3D issue really isn't worth worrying about. I'd probably look at something else for the money though if watching movies with BD player or Sky+HD are going to be your main sources.
