sony vs pioneer vs denon

Was looking into buying an AV reciever and blu-ray player have about £400-£600 to play with and was wondering which out of sony, pioneer and denon would offer best for my bucks, also read in another forum that its all about the AV reciever so should I blow most of my money on this and get a cheaper blu-ray player (really thinking about sony on this one) Cheers

What speakers are you planning to buy? System matching is more important than the brand of the receiver.

Hadn't got to thinking about speakers yet was gonna get the blu-ray and av and use my old technics speakers till i could afford some new ones
