I have just got the above AV Receiver and connected it up as follows:

HDMI to my Xbox 360

HDMI to my SOny bdp S350 Blu Ray player

Component to my Wii

Phono leads to my laptop

HDMI to my Optoma HD Projector.

I Fired it all up and it sounds good, PC Music and Xbox work fine.

The blu ray player picture's colour is all wrong and when you actually play the movie you lose the picture and sound is intermittent almost like it keeps losing and regaining the connection.

The Wii has a sort of purple tinge to everything but sounds fine.

The GUI interface is aslo purple, don't know if it's supposed to be or not as a can't find a pic of any online.

I'm using good quality Cambridge audio HDMI Leads and have swapped other leads and HDMI ports to no avail. I've also tried connecting everything direct to the projector which also works fine. Just wanted to know if these symptoms point to a setup problem before i send the Receiver back to richer sounds.

Any help is appreciated.

1)I would do a factory reset then connect just the blueray player to the receiver and then out to the Projector.

2)The Wii check that you put the colors in the correct connection and that they are pushed in properly. (red, Green, Blue)

how long is the cable run for the projector? try connecting the cable to Blue ray and projector.

If it still doesn't work I think the Sony might be defective. I have the 5400 same GUI as the 2400.

This amp in particular appears to have some niggling issues. Another thread here on a 'hissing' problem.....hope you get it sorted.

I can imagine how frustrating it must be.

Tried the above tips with no luck.

Playing with the settings on the bdp350 i've managed to get the colour correct, I changed the RGB output settings in case anyone else has a similar problem. It still doesn't display a picture and has intermitent sound,

I watched the displays on the amp and player and the HDMI icon keeps coming on and off like the connection keeps dropping out, any ideas?

The Wii is still purple and there are only 3 settings to choose from at the nintendo end, I tried the out composite video cable too and it has the same problem , Such a shame cos I can tell this amp will sound amazing if I can get it to behave!

Problem solved, sort of.

Just in case people suffer similar issues, I took the suspect amp back to richer sounds who didn't have another in stock, I now have a replacement Onkyo 607 which is excellent! However it was displaying the same symptoms, I trace the problem to a rogue v1.0 HDMI cable, It seems although my Xbox is tolerant of it the Blu ray and Wii were not. I suppose it is a testament to buying Quality interconnects, I shall stop being a cheap skate looks like the sony was innocent after all. lesson learnt!

in my time i have had similar issues, not just with HD but other connections. Sub not working properly = sub cable. Digital audio screwed up = dodgy coaxal cable. same with a scart once.

The lesson i have learnt from it all = never buy Cambridge Audio products. just my opinion obviously.
