Sony S790 vs S5100

I'm confused about the difference between the S790 and the new flagship S5100. Sony have not discontinued the S790 from the 2012 range. I am looking for a blu-ray player for the 55W905A. I understand the S790 has 4K upscaling but this no use with this TV. But does the S790 have Triluminos colour like the S5100?

I think the S5100 may be more suitable for the TV I'm getting but don't like that stealth bomber styling that all the new Sony Blu-ray players have.

just to clarify, the S790 doesn't have the Triluminos feature you mentioned - that's just on 2013 models.

Cheers Andy. I guess Sony haven't discontinued the S790 because of the 4K upscaling which probably also account for being alot more expensive than the S5100.

I sent you a tweet this morning btw - wondering if there are reviews planned for the S5100 and the HT-C660 soundbar?

The S790 will be superceded by a 2013 model soon.

Really? I thought that all the 2013 products had already been announced? I spoke to Sony on their online chat system today and they said there were no plans to discontinue the S790 and superceed it with a new model. He may not be aware of such information though or be in a position to disclose it.

I refuse to believe that Sony's flagship blu ray player will remain without Triluminos colour technology, to pair with its flagship TV range.
