Hi Everybody

I have recently purchased the sony S760 Blu ray player my amplifer is the excellent Pioneer AX10i which I am not going to change as I still think it is a fantastic piece of equipment .Currently I have connected the audio out to the co axial input of my amp as it does not have a hdmi input. Can somebody tell me if this is the best option or is it better to use the analogue outputs for blu ray HD master decoding and connect these to the amp and set it to multi channel input ? I would appreciate some advice as I am a bit confused.

Regards

At the moment, you won't get HD sound formats - an optical or co-axial connection can't carry that information. As you suspect, analogues will do the job if set the player to decode. The result should be great - as you say, the Pioneer is a quality amp.

Thanks for that advice . I have looked at at a few other replies on the same subject and will now try the 7.1 analog leads and multi channel inputs on my AX10i amp.
