I can only speak from experiance, I have the Samsung M86 40' and I love it. Based on price, quality, aesthetics, etc, I think you would be hard pushed to beat it, obviously this is only my opinion and although my intial purchase was based on reviews, features and a bit of biting the bullet, now I just sit and enjoying watching movies and playing video games on it. The downside of this set is the sound genuinly sucks, dont get me wrong for an episode of Eastenders it is ok, but I was dissapointed when I first put on Transformers but then I guess most people will already have a decent audio set up for said set, mine will be complete at the end of Feb.

I'd say the 'F' Samsung sets are a step up - we haven't tested a poor one yet. 'W' Sonys have also been impressive, if a pricier option.
