I have a Sony STR-DN1010 amp and an old Kef HTS2001 5.1 speaker system. Unfortunately the centre speaker is too large for the furniture. The gap available is 130mm high. I was thinking of buying a Audio Monitor R250HD as this is only 120mm high. The AM speaker is 120 watts and Kef are 100 watts as is the Sony amp. Is the AM speaker compatible with the rest of the kit?

Any comments would be appreciated. Sorry I can not change the furniture.

I could mount the Kef above the TV but it would look awful and I would probably be thrown out the house.

The TV is standing on the furniture, which has very small slots underneath it for the kit. I know it was a bad buy now but --------

It sounds like I should buy a new set of speakers but the Kefs cost a fair bit so I thought they would be ok.

I have my Kef sat on the top of my stand in front of the tv if you move your tv back would this be possable? If it is too high still try and lift your tv up with something.
If it still won't fit it would be cheaper to buy a new stand instead speakers, or is it an excuse to buy some new?

I have a Sony NX703 mounted on a metal bar stand. The Kef speaker when placed in front of the TV is in the way of the picture.

I bought the furniture at the same time as the TV - obviously without thinking it through too well!

I know it's not ideal but can't you position the centre speaker behind the tv. Just up the centre level a bit to compensate.

Worth a try
