Sony KDL75W855 vs Samsung ue78ju7500

Hi am looking at a large screen tv and will be sitting 5m away so not sure I will benefit from 4k

i can get above mentioned Sony for £1700 and Samsung for about £800/£900 more - what would people recommend ?

I know Samsung is 4K and curved but it's not HDR and at the distance I am sitting may not benefit from 4K

ignoring price and 4K anyone know which is the better picture and product

not sure extra £900 is justified for 3 extra inches unless the picture is so much better

It depends on whether you anticipate watching 4K in the next 2-3 years. SD will look slightly worse on a 4K screen as compared to 1080p due to the amount of upscaling involved.

Thanks I would definitely watch 4K as it becomes more available - issue is that I see you need to be at 3m to appreciate 4K at 75" which I will be no way near at and so won't be benefiting

Is the Samsung a lot better than Sony for HD viewing ? If it was I may be tempted

the curve does put me off slightly at that size - am thinking flat may be better
