Sony KDL-52Z5500...All advice appreciated

I am extremely new to this whole thing and have been meaning to replace my current TV for the past couple of years...the time has come! I am going to bite the bullet and do everything at once...TV/Blu-Ray/Sky+HD/Amp/speakers. I have had a Sony 30" CRT for the past 9 years and have been very happy so I am being drawn towards the Sony range. Obviously my first decision is the TV and I have spent the past few months researching & reading reviews...thought I would ask the experts? Please let me know your thoughts. This is a huge decision for me...I have spent less time choosing a house & wife! Thanks - Andy.

for the price of a 52z5500 you could get a pioneer kuro 50krp500 , universally accepted to be the best tv in the world , unless you dont like plasmas id be looking at one of them before taking the plunge ..
