Sony KDL-46X4500 OR pioneer plasma ?

would this sony KDL -46X4500 come close to the pioneer 500A ?

many say its on a par with the kuro , i read a review of the panasonic 46z1 today , and the verdict was it is better thaan a kuro , but its £5400 , ouch , there might be a cheaper option though , the samsung 50b850 plasma is as good as a kuro , according to one review online ( the only one yet ) , dont know how much it will cost but id say it will be cheaper than the rest , lets hope whfi gives a full explanation of whats what when they review the panny and sammy ...

Pioneer all the way mate for me & many others. Those black levels with hi def material, make it a reference set.

The Sony really is excellent and IMO on a par with the Pioneer. I do prefer the styling of the Pioneer esp without the speakers but they will all be gone very soon. To me the Sony will fill its place as the best screen on the market that is until the Z series from Panasonic arrives and the two will battle it out.

How much can you obtain the Sony screen for? If its more than the Pioneer - then that should certainly influence your decision.

I second that but would add that the Sony is better where bright scenes are concerned. There are some new sets being released, Samsungs 8000 series being one of them and may be worth waiting for.
