Had an email from Sony this morning confirming that they'll be bringing in our review 'HX923 'very soon' – along with the BDP-S780 Blu-ray player. Fingers crossed!

clare,

will you be doing just the 46" one or the 55", i am waiting for the 55" however they keep changing its release date (now first week of july)!! or if your reviewing one or the other does this mean that the review covers all of the HX923 sizes,

thanks

Several UK and German owners has reported a dark vertical line or "crease" fault on their recently delivered HX923's. The line appears approx 1 cm from the edge of the screen, sometimes on both left and right sides.

Examples:

Be intersting to see if you get a similar problem with your review sample...

Cheers

well done JJ,

I for one is gonna go crazy if thats on mine when it arrives, certainly does not instill confidence at all after waiting all this time for it and waiting for the WHF teams test on it.

futhermore you say UK customers have reported this?, i dont see how thats possible since its release schedule says first week of July and since mines on pre order i will get mine first (with the rest of the pre order customers!!) with possibly the exception of the WHF team being allowed one for testing purposes!.

Well, quite a few people do have them in the UK, you can read about it here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-led-lcd-tvs/1414611-sonys-flagship-bravia-hx923-3d-local-dimming-led-tv.html Guess you didn't pre-order early enough ;) Cheers JJ

This certainly IS NOT a "standalone" case as pretty much every owner that has received their sets over the last week or so has reported the issue over on AVF. People are also reporting the same issues on a German AV forum with the HX920 (euro version of HX923). Someone on AVF got a response from Sony saying: "I was told it is not a design fault in the tv, but a manufacturing issue with a specific batch." There is a lot more detail in the thread (near the end): http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-led-lcd-tvs/1414611-sonys-flagship-bravia-hx923-3d-local-dimming-led-tv.html I also have a 46HX923 on order for early July delivery, so I hope I can preview the set before delivery or get some feedback from Sony as to they acknowledge the problem and have fixed it. From what I here, replacements are being honoured by Sony if you complain; they don't seem to be openly declaring what is going on though, which is a shame with their recent bad PR on security... Cheers JJ
