Sony DAV-DZ 810 W

Hi my Sony DAV-DZ 810 W is ejecting dvd's and or saying it is not reading any disc, ie no disc found.

I have only watched about 20 films on this system and it is as new.

I notice alot of dust settles on and around the DVD surround player, could this have got in somewhere and be causing this problem?

Is it possible to clean the laser inside with a special dvd cleaning disc and if so is this likely to cure the problem, or is it something that is going to cost me?

The system was purchased by myself new a few years ago but I've only just started using it, I take it Sony warranties don't last that long?

Well, you can buy a laser cleaner from WH Smiths, Currys Digital and the like (and from Amazon etc. as you can see here) so this is worth a go. Also worth finding the manual to see what warranty it had when you bought it and also contact the place you bought it from and see what they say.

Otherwise, you may be a bit stuck I'm afraid - there's a chance it might be something trivial so the retailer is definitely the first point of contact.
