Hi,

Can someone please explain the model number system for Sony BRAVIA TVs? What do EX, NX, HX, LX mean? Are these the ranges or is the number the range? What is the order of the ranges from entry level to the flagship.

Cheers.

E for Essential
N for Network
H for, er, Cinematic
L for, um, Signature

Numbers 4,5,7,8,9 depict various levels of picture processing I think: like, 50hz, 100hz, 200hz.

The Sony website's quite good for comparing.

Thanks John.

I thought that L ie Signature Range is the flagship range so the KDL-60LX903 was Sony's flagship model but the LX903 uses edge lit LED backlighting where as the HX903 uses full array LED backlighting. But I thought the LX range was better than the HX range?

Basically, the two models I'm interested in are 52HX903 and the 60LX903. The HX903 has the full LED backlighting but it doesn't include the 3D transmitter / glasses and wireless dongle whereas the LX903 does but is only edge lit backlighting. I would also prefer the bigger screen too but I don't really want to compromise on picture quality.
