sony blu ray player on hd ready set

i've recently bought the sony bdp-s370 to go with a 37" hd ready set (panasonic tx-p37x10).

i can't see much difference between watching a blu ray and watching a dvd on my old panasonic dvd player.

is this just because i've only got an hd ready set and blu ray only really comes into it's own on bigger full hd sets, or am i missing something?!

There must be something wrong, i also have a panasonic 37" HD-ready plasma and the difference between blu-ray and DVD is very big.
