Sony 55x9005a 4k TV What Hifi Review

Hi, I have seen an unboxing video for this TV on the What Hifi site, but not a review. Is it due to be published soon either online or in the magazine ?

It is in next months mag, along with a group test with other 4K TVs. It might appear online before but I'm not sure.

Hi, just seen the latest What Hifi Magazine and can't seem to find the 55X9005A review in it. Instead, the 65X9005A is in it. Any word on this from the whathifi team please ?

Me again. . They are both the same. Hope you get a rely too.

They are pretty good in 4K. In 2D I prefer my Panasonic and that is not being bias.

Hi gel, thanks for your reply again. From what I've read, the 65X9005A has a different panel to the 55X9005A. Also, it seems that the 65X9005A gives1080p per eye using 3D and the 55X9005A gives 540p per eye. Both the 55" & 65" use passive 3D. Would be great to get further clarification from Sony and the whathifi team with regards to this. Also, would be great to see a dedicated seperate review for the 55" version.

That's not possible. If the 55-inch 4K panel only gives 540p per eye, that makes it 1080p, which isn't enough to fill the screen. It all depends on whether the source is 4K or not, be it a 55-inch or a 65-inch panel.

If the source is 1080p, then its first upscaled to 4K, and then split in two for passive 3D. This is what my understanding is.
