Sonos Play 3 and Aux in

I am presuming that it is possible to have something else play in stereo through a pair of Play:3s, but can see that you can't do it directly. What other Sonos 'thing' would be required to achieve this?

If you mean, e.g. a CD player, then you would need a zone with "line in" which means a Connect/Connect Amp or a Play 5 I think

Well, BD player actually, but if I had a ZP90/Connect, I could plug the BD player into it and then transmit to a pair of Play:3s in stereo, is that correct?

Yes, you can do that. Once the Play:3s are installed you'll find an option in the Sonos controller menu to 'create stereo pair'.

That's correct. The Play:3 has no line in, so you'd need a Connect/ZP90. Alternatively you could get two Play:5s (and no Connect/ZP90), as the Play:5 does have line in. The Play:5s can also work as a stereo pair.

and if you put them in two bedroom windows and play them down the street it's stunning >)

Of course John would still need the other unit unless the BD player is in the same location as the Play 5s so that might not be helpful
