Sonos or something else?

I'm building an extension on to my existing house. The electrician has wired it for ceiling speakers. In the future I intend to add further (wireless) speakers throughout the house. I want a hifi system that will:

a) take both wireless and wired speakers

b) give me control to only play music in certain rooms

c) allow me to play music from my pc or mobile phone

d) preferably allow me to use apps like TuneIn.

I've read reviews on Sonos but none of the reviews specifically say if the Connect systems are compatible with BOTH wired and wireless. They seem to only talk about its wireless capability.

Regards,

Sonos make their own wireless speakers in three different sizes (or five if you include the soundbar and sub).

They also make electronics that will fit into a traditional hifi system with wired speakers. So there's the Sonos Connect, which includes streamer, DAC and Preamp (both the DAC and preamp can be switched out if you want), and the Connect amp, which is the Connect plus a power amp (i.e. it can drive a pair of traditional wired passive speakers).

Thanks for the replies. So, in order to power both my wired speakers and my future wireless speakers, do I need to get the Sonos Connect or the Connect AMP?

To drive passive wired speakers you need either[/u] a Connect:Amp or a Connect plus integrated hi-fi amp.

As far as the wireless speakers are concerned, I couldn't help you without knowing what speakers they are. If you buy Sonos' own wireless speakers, you don't need anything: they have the streaming cards and amplification built in.
