i watched there will be blood yesterday on my pana plasma. Now i have loved my plasma since i bought it and think its great. Butthis movie didnt look right on it. The thing i noticed and this movie had a lot of this, was the way that the light on the screen affected the dark areas (seriously effected). For example, you have a lot of dark scenes inside with very bright sunshine outside (shining through windows). If you had any dark areas along the same plane as the light areas, they would seem washed out. If there was a figure standing in front of a window the part of him that was in the same line as the light would be washed out and his bottom half would be fine as it was not along the same line as the bright light from the windows.

Now you may say that thats the way it should be as the lights from the windows will effect a room in that way, but the same would happen in outside scenes. Where there was a figure stood against a skyline his bottom half would be dark and then his top half would be washed out right along the line of the horizon.

I hope i have made msyelf clear on the above!

My question to you is, is this a plasma issue?

Thanks

No. One of the strengths of plasma is that it it can show light and dark together on the screen at the same time. Without having seen the film in question I cant comment further.
