According to a manufacturer:

"The UK market is very small and not worth investment TBH ... tired of the dated and infantile twaddle on the other forums where the sounds of cables and amplifiers are discussed as though they exist and pseudo technical knowalls

What's left of a once interesting hobby is pitiful and boring, so let's hope more join us to encourage a rational approach and a wider interest in all media."

Is this going where I think it's going ... ?

Someone tell me this is not another AVI thread.

Thanks

I'm surprised a reputable (apparently) hi fi manufacturer can hold its customers in such contempt.

We are stupid, apparently.

it will go exactly where you think it will go. He can't help himself. Pathetic.

Well, I guess the OP is new. He is taking his baby steps. A very vocal baby admittedly.

Can't wait for the next cable thread 🙂

Hi Ahole, we don't need somebody to judge interests or hobbies.

Everybody is free to do what he wants......

So Ahole, find your own hobby.

greetings.

Ok. I've never enjoyed 'ganging up' on someone, new or not.

To the OP. The public opinions of one half of the old AVI are well known. - There are hundreds of similar threads which almost always end in an online brawl. Not nice.

Controversal or not, I think the person in question is actually very decent. I did meet him once at his home.

I can't tell you what to post or not but perhaps a have little search on AVI threads first and you get the answers to all you never needed to know.

Me, I'm signing out of this one.

Very sensible move, I can see this one going round and disappearing up it's own a*shole.

Oh dear. What is the point of this Avole? Actually I'm on a self imposed probation period so I'll definitely stay clear.

Hi,

I am replying to this thread, just to state, i will not be replying to this thread.

On a serious note - i think the information from the original poster is important. We can all hazard a guess as to who it refers to, but in general, this is an open forum, and we can decline to post if so desired.

The comments from the person are quite wide ranging, that is, everyone seems to be assigned the criticism. Not just this forum.

Does the person who made these comments therefore believe that they know everything about audio systems ?

I enjoy the debate of the threads on this forum, and we are all willing to accept that others have an opinion. But personal attacks against others if their opinion is not the same as another set of peoples opinion, is not acceptable.

Regards,

Shadders.

Do you own a telephone?

If so may I suggest that you try phoning somebody who might give a s**t about what this manufacturer thinks? Because we don't

Thank you for your input though

I would buy one of these Infantile Twaddlers you are talking about. Catchy name.

So is this just a temper tanty throwing the toys out of the cot, or what? There's any number of ways to go about business, whether it's carving yourself a niche in a small market, or maybe, despite the Brexit, looking at that great big global market and using one's success in one's local market to try and go global.

The UK market for traditional hi-fi has been shrinking for a long time and there is rather a lot of unwanted second hand traditional hi-fi knocking around eating into sales of new products. The market is indeed very small compared to what it was and unlikely to be worth any significant investment. Home audio in a wider sense is still plentiful but it has become less important to consumers and is often integrated with other home devices like TVs, phones, etc...

Many on forums do believe in the sound of cables and amplifiers (and the sound of a bunch of other hardware that is not identifiable blind) but I am fairly sure the proportion is reducing compared to 10 or more years ago. There also seems to be a growing awareness of what does actually matter although I am not sure much of it is pursued.

The enjoyment of a hobby has to rest on people's interests. I find the technical side of the hobby interesting but very few audiophiles share that interest. No problem. There is plenty of information around from technical sources. What audiophiles find interesting is up to them. I am not sure how one joins a manufacturer? Or is does that mean a particular manufacturer's support forum?
