Got to see a preview of Skyfall last night. Without giving away any spoilers, have to say it was great. Will you be going to see it this weekend? If so, let us know what you think. Oh, and look out for the Sony/Skyfall TV ad tonight featuring our Award-winning Sony KDL-40HX853. We even get a mention

Andy not sure why you started a new thread when the sky-foal one was already active but anyway.

It was different..... i'm very hard to please with Bond as i've got older and i'm a massive Bond fan it's just i'd virtually written Bond off after Brosnan's last two then Casino Royale resurrected it for me. Unlike most people i didn't mind QoS. I liked the idea that CR was a fresh start reboot and QoS followed it directly. Skyfall (Skye-fall would have suited better) feels more like another reboot (the end felt like the start of Bond)which enjoyable enough wasn't what i was looking for. Without spoiling anything the film has two big fopar errors in it which even my ultra suspendable belief found hard to ignore , spoilt it a bit for me. I'd like to think they will revist links to CR + QoS in Bond 24 BLOOD RAIN that's what i'll call it untill the Official name comes out but some how i don't think it'll be on the cards. It's a decent addition but to me the good parts don't get to flourish enough throughout the film.

I am totally serious.

Daniel Craig is not a good Bond at all. He only seems good to some people because the tone of the movies is now darker and more serious. Put any person in the lead and it would seem better in that respect, as Daniel Craig brings nothing to the role at all.

Clive Owen would have been a far better choice.

Just got home from watching Skyfall - awesome.

Great script, with lots of 'moments' and 'unexpecteds'; top-notch cast, even the wee cameos; excellent direction, especially the pacing; stunning photography.

Best Bond film ever? Yes.

Craig is the best Bond? If your preference is for the character from the books, yes.

Can't wait for the Blu-ray.

And hopefully, Skyfall's box-office takings will make the studios think twice about 3D

[And be wary of reading reviews - too many spoilers |( ]

Saw it yesterday at my local Cinema and LOVED IT! So good in every way even tough I am not the greatest Bond fan...

Now going to see it again at the IMAX on Saturday just to enjoy the gorgeous cinematography on the biggest screen possible. Bond is back oh yes! :bounce:

Got to say i thought it was good, but quite a long way from great, and a million miles away from the best Bond ever. I'd take Casino Royale every day (Warning, the next bit contains spoilers)...

Don't get me wrong, some of the chase sequences were awesome, the villan's entry into the film fantastic, the climax quite moving, but IMO it didn't feel like a Bond film. It think Craig is the best modern day Bond, but there were too many cheesy one-liners. Also the arrival of the DB5 while a nice nod to the old films felt massively forced. I mean, if this is supposed to be an early Bond, this car shouldn't even be in existence. And then there's the A-Team montage in Scotand wher ethey're laying the booby-traps, and finally Monneypenny. I mean, really?

And breathe...

Well the other one was about the Adele soundtrack, this one is about the film itself. And anyway, just because I can ;)

Gotta wait until Tuesday to see Skyfall

It's Wednesday now. Your thoughts please, Sir?

My thoughts, right here goes.

Really enjoyed the whole film to the extent that the time seemed to fly by. To me Craig continues to bring a hard, almost dark grittiness to the role which I enjoy, but at the same time I enjoy the repartee between him and Judi Dench. I also like the fact that we don't get the silly gadgets anymore, but gadgets that are possibly available to people if they know where to look for them.

Perhaps I'm saying that the last three films seem a bit more true to life than some of the previous incarnations where IMO sometimes things got a liitle bit "silly".

No spoilers from me I'm afraid, I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone but suffice to say there was one little "twist" to the story I don't anyone in the cinema was expecting.

Some well crafted action scenes as you would expect.

SWMBO also enjoyed it to the point that she would like to go again this week ( that might possibly be the Daniel Craig thing though :) ).

So if you are a Bond fan along with Craig as Bond its a definite one to go for in my opinion.

It will be a definite Bluray purchase for us, hopefully its not to long in coming out.

Watched it tonight. Enjoyed it, it's dark, as are all the Bond films with DC, and I do miss the Roger Moore style humour and old Q Branch gadgets. Felt alost like another reboot though, especially at the end. Do they have to keep doing that?

Wrong/not what I meant :p

Another clue - to be more specific, Skyfall semi-shares its cast-related distinction with From Russia With Love - and is normally considered 'bad for the box-office'...
