My new speakers are bi wireable..KEF IQ5SE.previously I have been using QED Silver but only as single runs..

Obviously I will need twice as much speaker cable if I bi-wire, But is this money well spent?

Is the same amount of money spent on a higher quality pair of stereo cables better value both sonically and financially ?

I still have the jumper cables that came with the speakers...so single wiring isn't a problem .

bi-wiring will give you an improvement over single wire (or the same type/cost), if you bring cost into it you may well get better results buying a single length of better cables.

you dont say what your sytem is but if can or you plan to bi-amp in the future then dont forget to take that into consideration when deciding,

quantifying the benefits of expensive single run Vs. double length of standard cable will depend on choice of cables but you can get a benefit whatever option you take, the benefit will be fairly small thoough, however, if bi-amping is a future upgrade possibility then bi wire so you dont have to buy more cable when you get the power amp,

Its speaker dependant, as biwiring still relies on the speakers internal crossover

Generally speaking whats happening is your 'phase shifting' frequencies so a lot of people that biwire believe it sounds better. But theres a gap inbetween the HF and LF signals which usually means voices never sound right

Its entirely your call, you might prefer it that way (Its sort of tuning the speaker if you will, but frequency presonse will never be 'right')

Personally id single wire with something like van damme UP LC-OFC and use the same speaker cable (Whatever it is) as jumpers to keep frequency response as accurate as you can

(In fact the van damme is so cheap to buy, you could buy a double run to test biwiring for yourself)
