I have a friend who has the bose ones, and personally I do not like the "Bose" sound.ÿ

One of the good things about the Whathifi show in Excel was that Shure had a stand for you to try all of there headphones. ÿI have been a fan of them for a long while having had a coupe of pairs of the bottom and one up from, of the range.

After the show I upgraded to the SE420 and they are amazing.ÿ

That said I use to have the SE210 and my wife also has the same model and they were very good also, but the SE420 are deffinatly an upgrade.

Plus if you need to keep noise out the Shures are great for that, I travel on the Trains and Tube and have no problem in hearing clear music. ÿOnly side effect is you don't hear the messages from the conductor telling you of the delays to your journey ... which is fine with me as I am enjoying my music.

Good luck, some great prices for Shure's online.ÿ

Get Shure for sure! Widely regarded as manufacturers of great earphones and Bose doesn't even come close.

I have Shure and really rate them above Klipsch and Sennheiser. Never liked the idea of Bose. Too driven by style-over-substance.

I have had both the Bose in ear and Tri port and have a pair of Shure E2 which are excellent, also I have a pair of Koss Pro Part which for the price are superb, I find the Koss meets my needs as the Shures tend to hurt my ears but if it is inear phones you want then the Shures will be a good choice.

I got a pair of Bose free with a phone and don't get on with them at all, the bass is just a boomy mess. That said, a mate of mine has a pair and loves them. They're pretty comfy though. In the end, I bought a pair of Westone UM1's and they sound and fit fantastic! Seriously good 'phones for less than a £100. I bought mine in the states but the exchange rate might not be as favourable at present.

Apple's new dual driver earphones are definitely worth a consideration, especially if you have an iPod. Cheaper than Shure SE210 and sound much much better in my opinion.

And got two stars and a slating in the mag this month. Stick with the Shures or Sennheisers.

Interesting, not seen the review myself. Going by my own ears they sound fantastic, and after reading many other posts on another well known forum dedicated to higher end IEMs a lot of people agree they are an absolute bargain.

Just saw the review on the site and then read the review of the Sennheiser CX300. I have both sitting right here, and I have to laugh...

"poorly defined bass" for the apples????? WHAT??? The Sennheisers sound like listening to a bass heavy track on a walkman with megabass on the highest setting with all kinds of music. The Apple IEMs sound like you can tell the brand of bass guitar being played. Then again this is all my opinion.

I recommend the Apples on here not because of what i have read but because I have owned Sony EX71, Sennheiser CX300, Etymotic ir6i (i think that's the model), Shure SE210, JVC (£20, don't know model number) and Denon C351 earphones.

Apple's blow them all away by a mile in terms of balanced sound, well defined bass and clarity, in my own opinion. To the extent that listening now to Sennheiser CX300 earphones is unbearable.
