Evening All, my Nike SHJ055 Sport Duro headphones have developed intermittent sound/connection problems and I guess they're out of warranty after 6 years or so of use so I'm going to buy some new headphones to go with my MPIO FL350 MP3 player and Nokia 5800.

Not really fussed about the Sporty aspect of the headphones, more sound quality, comfort and not being too big to wear when going out for walks.

Next weekend I'm off to Filey & Whitby for a week of gentle beach walks and gluttony so want to have the headphones by the end of this week.

My phone and MP3 player currently contain Springsteen, Waits, 40's big band music like Harry James with a few jazz vocalists. Oh and Don Estelle & Windsor Davies, not forgetting Mrs Mills playing "I do like to be beside the seaside".

The Sennheiser PX 200-II headphones are being sold on Amazon at the moment for £42.80. Are there any better headphones for the job before I go ahead and buy them ?

Hi, I can reassure you they are a good buy and punch well above their price bracket in comparison to my other headphones, but I have not heard any direct competitors.

Thanks idc, that's reassuring to know and makes it easier to click the 'Add to basket' button ...

Or maybe the AKG K450 headphones which had a good review in whathifi recently. Both these and the px200's are closed back though. If your not fussed about leakage or isolation you might get a cleaner sound from the PX-100's (and they are cheaper)

What about Goldring NS1000 for £54.99? http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/8240767/Goldring-NS1000-Active-Noise-Reduction-Cancelling-Headphones/Product.html?searchtype=allproducts&searchsource=0&searchstring=goldring+ns1000&urlrefer=search

You'll also get noise cancellation as a bonus. They're excellent performers.
