Hey folks, Unfortunately these days electrical stores don't generally stock decent headphones, at least not within 40 odd miles of me anyway. So now you're expected to spend large amounts of money on headphones based on looks and reviews as opposed to actual sound. It's sad but it's not going to change.. Anyway I'm looking for an "all rounder" headphone for..- Music. The only real time I listen to music through headphones is laying in bed, or as a passenger in a car etc. I don't tend to wear them out in the street or In public places. Until now I've been using beats by dre soloHD. Yes, I know people hate them. I liked them, but now I want to upgrade to something better sounding and less "bassy". - Gaming. I do a lot of gaming, recently I bought a pair of Astro A40s and have so far been somewhat disappointed with the sound quality, hopefully some tweaking will fix this because I really want to use them as they're very comfy and well .. They cost a lot. But having a good alternative certainly wouldn't hurt. The Astros are built for surround sound anyway and not all games work well with that. - Mixing. I do a little bit of mixing here and there for fun on my own and with friends. I've narrowed it down to the Sennheiser Momentum, HD558 and HD598. Momentum- Most likely choice at the moment for an "all rounder". Love the looks, portability and sound is supposed to be brilliant. HD558- Some say better sound than momentum? This is where it annoys me that I can't go anywhere to try them out these days. From what I gather, these could be better for gaming but less so for wearing out and about and probably mixing too mostly due to being "open back". The large jack is a bit of annoyance too as it would probably always have the adapter on. HD598- Same as above really, supposedly better sound than the Momentum and HD558 still. Don't like the colour either :p So this is where I need your advice. I think anything would be a step up from the beats but I need help knowing which one to choose. ThanksS7ewie

Momentum will have the extra impact etc. for gaming. I'd use the 558/598 for classical and acoustic music, but Momentum for gaming.
